Tamar Bailey,
Producer
Tamar
Bailey, a pioneer in her own right, has spearheaded the film
effort and brought together the people and inspiration necessary
to move forward with the documentary. A captain of jumbo jets
and a longtime jazz enthusiast, Bailey spent years as an Alaska
bush pilot before hiring on with an airfreight carrier and
moving to Seattle. She has also been instrumental in the
production of two books: Seversen’s Roadhouse: Crossroads of
Bristol Bay, Alaska, a historical record of a roadhouse in
the Alaskan bush, and Alaska's Women Pilots: Contemporary
Portraits, a collection of stories about Alaskan women
pilots, one of which is Bailey. As the documentary’s producer,
she has taken this project from its original inception to the
reality it has become—and now carries it through to its final
release.
